Michel Franco’s New Order.

I watched the Mexican film New Order last night.

It’s by the filmmaker Michel Franco, and tells the story of an uprising on the streets of Mexico City. Set initially around a high-society wedding that goes awry, the film eventually gives way to a wider picture of corruption and social disorder. It’s a very powerful and often-shocking piece of work, and one which I would highly recommend. New Order is available to watch on MUBI.
